Lions and tigers and werewolves, oh my!

Work crashed down upon my head like a very angry wave, and I haven't written anything since my last Sanctuary post.  This weekend I basically said  "Screw it," and sat down to do some writing.  And lo and behold, 3k words poured out of me.  I'm now at ~17,500 words.

I'm not sure if/when work is going to let up, plus there's other Life stuff going on, so I'm going to enjoy stealing the time to write while I can.

I also checked Cherie Priest's sequel to Boneshaker, Dreadnought, out of the library.  I enjoyed Boneshaker, and I'm looking forward to reading this one, assuming I can find a few hours when I'm not working, sleeping, or too exhausted to do anything but watch tv before it comes due.

I hear there are zombies in Boneshaker, etc. Are they scary and/or gory zombies? I feel somewhat obligated to read them, as Cherie is the GOH at my con next summer, but zombies.

If it helps, I don't do zombies much, and I don't particularly remember them in this books, so likely they are scary and/or gory. Or at least, not excessively.

I think I wrote a review of Boneshaker when I read it before starting Skywatch, and the thing you have to remember is that the first two hundred pages are pretty slow (took me a number of days), and the second two hundred pages are fast as anything (I read them in one day). But I do recommend it.

I'm assuming you haven't started your next (hopefully last?) draft of Skywatch yet, since I haven't heard about it here. Any idea when that will take place? I am determined to stop being a horrible friend and actually finish your book so I can talk to you about it before you revise. Am slightly more than halfway now.

Nope, haven't had a chance to start the hopefully-final draft of Skywatch yet. No idea when that'll happen--I have werewolf book, and I have a friend's novel to edit myself, and Skywatch will happen after that (well, not after the entire werewolf book, but after editing for a friend, anyway).

Maybe by late August? I hope to start editing it by then, anyway.

I would love to get your thoughts before I start!
