Skywatch dv final stats

Let's be clear: I am still uneasy about this draft. It's part of the whole disjointed thing I talked about yesterday. Even though I checked everything off my to-do list--as much as I could without another reader, anyway--I nevertheless feel unsettled calling this draft finished. It's so obviously still not ready, and I've utterly lost track in my brain of all the bits and pieces I've added, subtracted, and altered in this draft. I just want to take a step back for a week or so, and then read the thing from beginning to end, which I haven't done in months.
This will wait until my next reader is finished with it, methinks. Then I will almost definitely be able to see this draft with clearer eyes, and also will have commentary to help me discern what's working and what isn't.
Draft V word count: 50,332
In good Skywatch-related news (not that finishing dv isn't good news!), I finally figured out a solid, steampunky word to use as the Cityspeak for "helicopter" (you'll recall I begged for help with this about three weeks ago). Many thanks to the anonymous commenter for inspiration.
