Last night I had one of those rare wonderful evenings where I reached the end of my editing quota, considered my state of wakefullness and motivation, and went to reheat my caffinated tea because I was on a roll. I edited eight chapters last night (my quota was four, if you were wondering), and have only five more to read through before I send it off to someone else to tear to shreds.
In other (related) news, when I do send Skywatch off (Monday, I hope), I intend to start writing Sanctuary. It's been in solid outline form for nine months now. I did the whole get a job/move to another state thing in there, plus I picked out a couple of holes and things that needed to be changed or taken into consideration in that time, so it wasn't entirely useless, but the Time Has Come. I have one or two piddling last minute details to work out, but I should nevertheless be able to begin the rough for Sanctuary on Tuesday. Wish me luck!
I've also been comtemplating Moxie, as a series. I always knew I want to make a series out of her story, but very much just in an abstrasct fashion. Lately I've been bombarded with all the ways I could do it, and last night I hit upon an idea to arc out the series over a fairly concrete number of books, and also tossed away any kind of idea that any two Moxie books will look too much alike--she's a superhero, and the range of stories a superhero can tell is massive. I fully intend to play with all of them, to peek into the weird corners of Moxie's world, to turn over rocks (or crawl under them), to head into space and other dimensions, to face human serial killers and inhuman saviors. Moxie has a lot to say. I hope I can do her justice.
