Nothing confirmable on the job hunt, sadly, which is making me twitch. I have hopes, desires, and nothing concrete. Twitch.
I've been reading more than usual, though, so I come bearing YA book recs:
Heist Society by Ally Carter
Realistic fiction--well, as realistic as a crime-caper story can be, anyway. I liked the characters and I enjoyed the caper; I hope this is the first of a series.
The Demon's Lexicon by Sarah Rees Brennan
I loved the POV character's voice in this book. All the characters are wonderful, memorable and relatable. Her world is interesting and sometimes harsh. The book is fast, funny, thoughtful, and something of a kick in the chest. The plot is quick and solid without losing the reader or giving too much away. I didn't see the ending coming--I had my suspicions, but she surprised me. That's hard to do--I'm really good at guessing where fiction is going. Exceedingly well done.
My friend Elena has a much better rec for The Demon's Lexicon here, at her blog--she's why I picked it up in the first place, and I'm glad I did. If you're looking for more book recs, in adult fantasy and YA in general, her blog is a good place to look. Our tastes don't always mesh, but I trust her judgment.

And yes, Heist Society is the first in a series! Though it'll be a while before the second comes out, as the author alternates between this series and another.
