anthimeria: unicorn rampant, first line of Kipling's "The Thousandth Man" (The Novel)

WisCon starts in two days!  Yay!  I'm excited, and I had a great time reading my fellow novelist's work, so I have high hopes for the workshop.

In other news, The Novel is about ready to start shipping to agents (and let me tell you how happy I am that most of them have electronic querying now).  Proper manuscript format for spec-fic is courier (or courier new) font--since I write and do all my drafting in Times New Roman, I had to change that (just about everything else about standard manuscript format I write into the document as I draft).  So, tonight I hit select all and changed The Novel's font from TNR to Courier New.

Changing the font added one hundred and seven pages.  A hundred and seven pages!  Because I changed the font!

Let me reiterate how glad I am that I probably won't have to physically print or ship this thing, because it's intimidating.  And it's only 90k words long!  How many pages is a 120k-word manuscript?  I shudder to think.
