anthimeria: unicorn rampant, first line of Kipling's "The Thousandth Man" (The Novel)

I'm almost finished with The Novel's new ending!  I'm so excited!

I literally just finished writing the climactic fight scene, and it looks like this draft is going to wrap up at ~93k words--which is ten thousand words longer than my rough draft.  I'd hoped to cut down The Novel, but it looks like that's a job for another draft.  On the other hand, I know this draft is much better than the rough, with a tighter plot and, hey, basic grammar mistakes and anachronistic language fixed!  In the sections that I edited instead of rewriting, anyway.

This has taken me so long already, and I know it's going to take a lot more time, but this will be the first time ever I've made it through a new draft of a novel.  I'm so excited--I don't know what I'll do when I actually reach the end.  Maybe dance.  Probably dance.
