Announcing: Horizons
Mar. 10th, 2012 11:07 pmShiny new icon! Stars, yes, very original for my sci-fi novel. That takes place in space.
I finally started having fun (4k words today!), though it's a different kind of fun than my usual novel process because this one's a little more seat of the pants. I did some research and some worldbuilding, but I'm trying a much looser style this time around, so it's a little more like my usual short story writing style than novel writing (except I can spend 3k words on a single scene without feeling like I've gone overboard).
Partly the new process is because after The Novel, Skywatch, and Sanctuary's misfire, I felt like I needed to try something new. Partly it's also because it's been more than a year since I had a novel in the writing stage, and I was starting to go squirrely. Editing, and writing short stories, is not enough. I love long-form writing.
So! Tomasa C. Jeong is fourteen years old, going to a new school on a space station, and is about to be in a lot of trouble. Or, well, even more trouble.
