anthimeria: unicorn rampant, first line of Kipling's "The Thousandth Man" (Default)
Have not yet wrested my backed up files from the memory key.  I switched from Windows XP to Windows 7 (thus skipping Vista) and Microsoft tells me that I have to download a specific backup/restore program because they switched backup/restore programs and the one I used isn't supported on the new OS.  I suspect it's going to go badly.

I wonder how deep I'll have to dig to find a phone number where I can call a person to help me with this issue?

Also, this laptop keeps doing things without asking me.  Like updating everything every time I turn it on.  I really hope that dies down, and is just because it's a new system, because otherwise it's going to be really annoying.
