Anthimeria: in rhetoric, the substitution of one part of speech for another (such as a noun used as a verb).

Aspiring writer in . . . too many media to mention.

Right now I'm primarily working on my novels and I have a few short stories making the rounds.

Speculative fiction in all its guises is my home turf. I love the versatility of the genre and all its subgenres. YA is a favorite genre of mine.

My first and best love in visual media is sequential art--comic books. Specifically, superhero comics. I love them dearly, and have made myself something of an amateur historian of superhero comics. Sequential art of all kinds fascinates me, and I've also made something of a study on how and why it works. I only wish I could draw.

I graduated magna cum laude from Knox College, with a B.A. in Creative Writing and two minors, in History and Gender and Women's Studies. I am a member of Phi Beta Kappa. I was a co-founder and editor of the online speculative fiction magazine "The Third Level."

I currently work at a lovely children's bookstore where I curate the graphic novel collection, read as much YA and MG as I can, and flail a lot with ten year olds. It's pretty much the best.

All of the above is subject to change, and given that I'm a creature who uses her computer to write and to surf the internet, the above may not reflect my current status if I've forgotten to update it. One should probably check the journal itself if one would like updates.
